Tallit

This is the first tallit I made and it was for me. Using panels of linen I dyed with cochineal, I created the body of the tallit. The atarah (crown) is dyed with indigo and embroidered with the blessing for putting on a tallit. The exterior kanfot (corners) are made from tye dyed silk and the interior kanfot are linen dyed with turmeric and embroidery with 4 different motifs. The tzitzit are hemp spun by. The finished touch is a secret pocket for a single clove of garlic.
